ON HIS FIRST VISIT TO GAROUA, PRIME MINSTER DION NGUTE IS GREETED WITH A RAUCOUS WELCOME.

The Governor of the North Region, Jean Abate Edii, and a slew of local dignitaries greeted the Prime Minister at the plane's tarmac.

The jubilation outdoors was briefly halted while several military detachments took their positions for the singing of the National Anthem.

The Prime Minister inspected the soldiers before greeting regional leaders, including the Lamido of Garoua, Ibrahim El Rachidini. He proceeded to meet the lengthy line of celebrities and political party organizations that had gathered at the airport.

Crowds of schoolchildren, inquisitive residents, and supporters of the CPDM and NUDP political parties lined the streets as the Prime Minister's motorcade set off, signing patriotic songs and waving the National Flag.

Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute was welcomed by chanting crowds as he made his way to the Ribadou Hotel, where he is staying for two days on his tour to the area.

Some regional celebrities were given audience by Joseph Dion Ngute.

According to the Prime Minister's schedule, he will go to Figuil to lay the groundwork for the building of a clinker and cement manufacturing plant in Figuil, Cameroon's North Region.
