PRIME MINISTER JOSEPH DION NGUTE STARTS PEACE MISSION IN NORTH WEST

Prime Minister Dion Ngute sends a peace mission to the North West Region of the country.

In the morning of October 5, 2021, he was welcomed by Santa Subdivision residents at Matazen's North West Region entrance.

Chief Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute, the head of government, thanked the people for their warm welcome and explained that his mission in the North West was to bring peace.

After he finished speaking, shots rang out in the hills above Matazen. Defense and security forces sprang into action immediately, and the situation was stabilized in a flash. There was no assault, as reported by a number of sources.

The shots were fired by separatist militants who were around 1.5 kilometers away from the point of entrance into the North West Region, according to pictures that have been circulating online.

The P.M. convoy had no problems getting to Bamenda after leaving Matazem. There were tens of thousands of people waiting to welcome the Prime Minister at the Mile 1 upstation, and a similar spectacle was visible at Custom Junction.

The mayor of the city stole the show at the governor's junction, much to the pleasure of the Prime Minister and his entourage with songs of praise and adoration. People in Bamenda were overjoyed when the Prime Minister announced his arrival and said that he had been sent a peace message from President Biya. Afterwards, the Prime Minister retired to the Ayaba Hotel where he had meetings with a wide range of people and groups.
