MADE IN CAMEROON DRONES

A group of young Cameroonians under the leadership of William Elong who is the CEO of Will & Brothers designed and manufactured drones in Cameroon. They describe the goal of the drones as a way to help farmers with mapping services and data analyses so as to improve farming techniques and crop production. The Cameroonian-made drones also have applications in the security industry.

The drones currently cost about 1 million francs CFA, which is significantly cheaper than similar equipment abroad. William Elong emphasized that his drones have incorporated the use of artificial intelligence that could effectively identify items, track cars and people, and store significant amounts of data.

The drones were unveiled at an event organized by the Minister of Posts and Telecommunication, Madam Libom Li Likeng in the presence of other officials and professionals.
