Over the last 6 years, Google commenced a global online competition called "Google Code-In" where pre university students ages 13-17 are encouraged to participate. This competition involves a wide variety of bite-sized tasks to hack open software. Collins Nji, 17 year old student from Bamenda, Cameroon is the winner of the 2016 session making him not only the first African victor, but the first black person to ever hold such a title. As a recompense for his success, Nji will be traveling to Mountain View, California to meet the Google Open Source team and other members of the Google Software Engineering team. He will have the opportunity of meeting like-minded hackers from all over the world and gaining insight from one the world's most successful enterprises.
